heart palpitations?

I had a little bit of a scare the other day. I had been gathering all my ducks into a row before I called Red Rock State Park about our ceremony. It was at that time, that I found on there that we would have to get a special venue permit and that an insurance policy of $1,000,000.00 would be needed! WHAT!?!?!? Ya, my thoughts exactly. Well it turns out that this is only for parks that are not normally maintained and that we are fine with the regular fees that we will pay to get into the park.

I have not heard back from Verde Valley Rentals about the chairs. I am contemplating the tablecloths. I really need to find the ribbons that I want to use, though, before I decide on tablecloths.

I can see how women become bridezillas. Seriously. I am stressed out beyond beleif and I am having a small little get together with about 50 people! Have you actually looked at either the Emily Post or Martha Stewart wedding planning books? My god, if I followed those books I would need to hire a whole crew of people and take three years off to plan my wedding.

My sisters and I are going to look at dresses on the 20th. I am hoping to get a dress that day. I think that when my dress is found and the site is booked. Then we will be okay! I have a very small budget for a dress. I am looking to spend about 150.00 to 200.00 on a dress. I will give my self a little wiggle room if it ends up being THE dress.

More to come.

A little head rush!

So this is going to be quite a photo heavy post! I finally have time to sit and upload all my pics! YAY!

To get to the site you have to walk a long a (roughly twenty minute trail). This is the beginning of the walk.

You cross over a little bridge and come to this open area.

Walk just a little bit more... seriously it is only like 3 minutes for the walk from the bridge...

And this is where the ceremony will be......

Beautiful isn't it?

Amy and I have come to the agreement that we are getting chairs. I understand her fully on this decision. I just kept thinking that they really weren't needed. She did make some valid arguments and I am raising the white flag on this one!

This is where the reception will be held. I know it doesn't seem like much, but I refuse to believe that I won't be able to make it beautiful!

I really wanted to use vintage table cloths but I don't think I will be able to get enough. And being the crazy that I am, I will not, will not use plastic tablecloths. I know that doing barbecue I should be realistic, but I just can't do it! I will post more on the centerpieces... I have some ideas floating in the head but they have not come to a full boil yet!

More to come...

Ceremony Planning

Amy and I have been going back and forth about ceremony planning. We have decided to have our ceremony in Sedona, AZ. A wonderful and beautiful city! I will get pictures up of it I promise. Inside Red Rock State Park there is little field area right in front of a HUGE, 300 year old Cottonwood tree. I saw a few pictures of ceremonies in front of the tree and trust me, they don't do the area justice! I don't think that we really need chairs, but Amy says, yes...we do... so we are shelling out the 100 bucks for them! Ugh! I have to give on some things right?

Martha (a pal of mine) had told me that her husband had an Aunt that was an ordained minister. She asked if she would be interested in doing our ceremony and she said yes with out a problem! YAY! That hill has been climbed. I need to give her a call and kind of go over all the ceremony plans.

I have been searching the web and really can't find much on commitment ceremonies. They mostly talk about what the invitaions should be worded. Amy and I are not religious people but we definitely want to have a somewhat spiritual ceremony. There are a few things that I have found that I really would like to include but don't know about the cheese factor of them. There are few idea that I am going to run by people so, we shall see how they go.

I ordered some samples for our invitations. I have decided to take on the task of making our invations. NO ~ not just print it out invitations. I using some handmade paper I found at Arizona Art Supply. A pretty cream paper with small leaves and tiny flowers pressed in.

But alas, I need to get pictures up for this to all make sense! More to come...

And so it begins...

Amy and I have known for a long time that we would spend the rest of our lives together. It was just a while back, though, that we decided to make this a real thing. Flowers, dress (slacks for Amy), friends, family and the whole enchilada.

You can also check out our other site at lolweddingz.blogspot.com.
Here you will find all of our mishaps, horrible pictures and the whole comical side to getting hitched!

Pictures will be added to both sites in the near future.

Check back for updates.
